While the AMH blood test doesn't provide specific information about the number of viable eggs or predict pregnancy likelihood, it offers insight into whether your AMH levels align with expectations for your age. Typically peaking in a woman's mid-twenties and declining with age, AMH levels reflect ovarian reserve, with low levels indicating diminished reserve and high levels suggesting greater reserve, albeit possibly influenced by conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It's worth noting that contraceptive pill use may affect results, and it's advisable to wait until normal menstrual cycles resume after stopping the pill before taking the test.
