HIV 1 & 2 Abs/p24Ag Test

This test detects Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) 1 and 2 antibodies, as well as antibodies to the p24 protein, an early marker of HIV infection. The presence of p24 allows for earlier detection of HIV before antibodies are produced. While p24 antibodies decrease over time, indicating recent infection, HIV antibodies suggest an established infection.
