Do I need this for the first 7 days of sickness? (Often not — self-certification may be enough)
In the UK, you can normally self-certify for the first 7 calendar days of sickness. A private medical letter may still be useful if your employer asks for one, you need supporting evidence for SSP, or your university has an evidence deadline. Check what the receiving organisation requires before ordering.
Will my employer accept this letter?
Letters are reviewed and signed by a UK-registered GP and include QR verification. Acceptance ultimately depends on your employer or organisation, so check any specific requirements first.
Can the letter be backdated?
A GP can only confirm a past period when supporting evidence makes that clinically appropriate. Backdating is not guaranteed.
What if the GP cannot issue it?
You receive a full refund if the reviewing doctor decides that issuing a letter would not be clinically suitable.
Is this an NHS fit note?
No. This is a private medical-letter service and is not provided by the NHS.
